Hi, I'm Sophia! (she/her). As an emerging literary scholar I aim to use this space as a virtual curriculum vitae as well as an opportunity to share some of my work. I believe academics should be as accessible as possible. To say that my work doesn't seem "academic" in tone is a shining compliment in my book. As I begin doctoral studies at Queen's University, I am interested in writing on fantasy and science fiction, religious intersections with literature, war literature, and alternative theologies.

Mary's Memories
Mary’s Memories is a self-published book written from interviews I conducted with my maternal Grandmother early in the Covid-19 pandemic. The book is over 100 pages of writing and photos chronicling her parents emigration to Canada from the Czech Republic, as well as the story of her life in her own words. I include this in my CV as it was a major project produced during my MA and first PhD year. In total, the project was nearly two years to completion, after which it was printed and distributed. I completed the interviews, writing, editing and layout independently.
